The City of Powell River has approved a letter of support for a funding application to study flood hazards in the community. The program is being spearheaded by the regional district.
Mayor Dave Formosa says given that Powell River is an ocean-front community, it’s important to understand the impact that climate change and major storm events could have on the region.
Council is providing a letter of support for the funding application, which is being made to Emergency Management BC.
