A homeless count is taking place in Powell River, starting this week.
Kerrin Fraser with the Salvation Army says a group has been formed to look at options for a cold, wet weather shelter for the homeless and the first step is figuring out the level of need.
The Powell River homeless count is expected to take two weeks.
