‘Our bears are on the move and hungry’, City of Powell River

The City of Powell River is reminding residents to secure their garbage and compost bins as bear activity increases with summer approaching.

“Our bears are on the move and hungry,” the city said in a social media post.

The city made three recommendations to prevent bears from getting into bins: ensure lids fit tightly, keep bins clean and avoid placing bins out the night before collection.
