Council moving ahead with land purchase for future waste water plant

Powell River city council is moving forward with the purchase of two 10 acre parcels for the future waste water treatment plant.

Acting Mayor CaroleAnn Leishman says council has approved $575,000 to purchase the land, which is the first step in the process.

Leishman notes the purchase will allow for flexibility in the design of the plant and also provides room for future development or expansion as technology and water treatment standards change.
