Gillies Bay tennis and pickleball court resurfacing complete

A professional court resurfacing job at the Gillies Bay tennis and pickleball court has been completed.

The qathet Regional District said the work will add about eight years of life to the structure.

Work included resurfacing the community courts and repainting both the tennis and pickleball lines.

“The finished product looks fantastic and is already generating enthusiasm for exercise, fitness and friendly competition on the courts,” said Patrick Devereaux, general manager of operational services.

The regional district said the work was completed with financial support provided through a grant from the Powell River Community Forest.

“Many thanks to the Powell River Community Forest for putting money back into the communities that we play and recreate in. These considerate awards assist in relieving expenses and taxes to maintain this infrastructure,” said Devereaux.
