The annual Trash Bash event goes this weekend.
Abby McLennan says the event began 15 years ago and is a community effort to clean up illegally dumped garbage. She says it’s also the annual spring clean-up day, where residents can bring down specific items to dispose of.
She says that items that usually get illegally dumped are “…mattresses, metal, furniture, washers, dryers, fridges, freezers, tires, BBQs and clean wood-waste. Residents can take these items down to the Trash Bash as well, but the main idea is to clean up illegally dumped garbage [around] the community.”
The event goes Saturday from 9:30 AM until 3:00 PM.
