The new Powell River Library has a time-frame for its opening.
The Alberni Street location is slated to open during the last week of June, according to Chief Librarian Terry Noreault.
General Contractor Futurevest Investment Corporation says workers are currently finishing the building’s exterior.
City of Powell River Project Manager Tor Birtig says landscaping work still needs to take place, but that won’t delay the library from moving into the new space.
Noreault says he’s planning on closing the current facility on June 12th for two weeks to give staff enough time to move the library’s collection over to the new building.
