The new Powell River Library building will be opening at the end of June.
Chief Librarian Terry Noreault says the week of June 26th will be when the new facility will open its doors. He notes the project has taken a little longer than expected.
“Feeling good now. You get a bit impatient when it’s coming along but renovating an existing building is always a challenge. Until you open it up, you don’t always know what you’re going to find.”
Noreault says the new location has been well worth the wait and staff are excited about moving into the new space.
The current library will close on June 12th, so the collection can be moved to the new location.
