Riders have worked hard to raise funds for pediatric cancer research as part of the 2017 Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast, which wraps up in Vancouver on Thursday.
Stephen Kim owns the Bike Gallery in Vancouver and helps tune up the riders’ bikes before they head out each day. He attended the spaghetti dinner and head-shave event in Powell River last weekend. He says it’s been an absolute honour to be a part of the event.
“I’ve always said that if I ever had an opportunity to own a business, if I could get myself involved in something – like a charity, where I am intimately involved, then that’s what I want to do, and I found it.”
He says that the community support has been incredible, especially on the Sunshine Coast. “Anyone that has done this in the past will 100% agree that our highlight is when we come to the Sunshine Coast. You see everyone coming out on the street, you see the volunteers, the rotary’s that make us the meals and I’m just very fortunate to be a part of that.”
