The Let’s Talk Trash team is encouraging people to bring pumpkins to the new compost depot.
Pumpkins dropped off today will be sent to a local farmer to be used as animal food. Let’s Talk Trash spokesperson Inger-Lise Burns says it’s part of informing the public about the food hierarchy.
Burns says people are asked to remove any toothpicks, wax or other things that could be harmful to animals. The pumpkins can be dropped off between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM today.
