Powell River moves to stage two watering restrictions

Powell River is now under Stage 2 watering restrictions.

The city said residents may use only one hose at a time to water lawns on designated days. Properties with odd-numbered street addresses may water on odd-numbered calendar days, while properties with even-numbered addresses may water on even-numbered days.

Lawn watering is permitted only between midnight and 9 a.m.

Underground sprinkler systems may also be used during the permitted watering hours.

The city’s director of infrastructure may issue exemption permits for new lawns at their discretion.

Non-commercial pressure washing is permitted only for paint preparation and health and safety purposes. Pressure washing for aesthetic purposes is not allowed.

Residents may wash vehicles using a single hose equipped with a spring-loaded shutoff nozzle.
