Fire Prevention Week

It’s Fire Prevention Week.

Powell River Fire Chief Terry Peters says this is a very important week used to educate residents. He says it brings everyone up to speed on the reality of fires and the importance of fire safety.

Peters says this year – the Powell River department is holding an open house on October 15th between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Residents are invited to watch demonstrations and take part in fire prevention education activities.

He adds the department has gone to schools in the area to discuss fire safety at school and at home.
