Powell River woman claims $400,000 prize from BCLC’s The Big Spin

A Powell River resident is celebrating a big win from scratch-and-win tickets.

Marguerite K. asked her retailer about new tickets she could try and was referred to BCLC’s The Big Spin, which led to her landing a top prize and a chance to spin the Big Spin wheel at BCLC’s Vancouver office.

With friends and BCLC staff present, Marguerite spun the wheel May 7, landing on a $400,000 prize.

“I wondered if it would stop at $400,000; then when it did, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, wow, it did!” said Marguerite.

The winning ticket was purchased at Save-On-Foods on Alberni Street in Powell River Town Centre.

With the winnings, Marguerite plans to buy a car and complete renovations on her home.
